A podcast hosting platform stores audio episodes and delivers them to listeners. Flicknexs is a different kind of host: your shows play inside your own branded website and apps, behind your own subscription plans or per-episode prices, with no ad share. It does not generate an RSS feed and does not submit shows to podcast directories.
Flicknexs provides podcast hosting platform as part of its white-label OTT platform. Flicknexs hosts audio shows as tracks, albums and playlists inside your own website and apps, sells them through your subscription plans and per-episode prices, and does not publish an RSS feed to any podcast directory.
Why a podcast hosting platform on Flicknexs is not a directory feed
Start with what Flicknexs is not, because the phrase podcast hosting platform usually means a service that stores your audio, builds an RSS feed and pushes it to the big podcast directories. Flicknexs does not do that. There is no RSS feed generator in the platform code and no submission to Apple Podcasts, Spotify or any other directory. If your whole plan is to be found in those apps and earn from dynamically inserted ads, you need a feed host, and this page will not pretend otherwise. What Flicknexs offers is the other half of the podcast business, the half those directories never give you.
That other half is ownership. On Flicknexs the audio module gives you tracks, albums, artists, categories, languages and playlists inside your own branded website and apps. An album works as a show or a season, a track as an episode. Every episode carries its own access rule: free, included in a subscription plan, or sold as a pay-per-view purchase. The listener signs up on your site, pays through your gateway, and listens in your app. You see who they are, what they finished, and what they paid, and no platform takes a cut of your revenue.
The technical shape of a directory podcast is set by the Apple Podcasts requirements page, which specifies the RSS tags, artwork sizes and audio formats a feed must carry to be accepted. It is worth reading even though Flicknexs does not produce that feed, because it shows what a directory listing is: a public file that anyone can subscribe to for free. A paid, private show inside your own app is a different product with different rules, and the same audio file can serve both if you keep a free public feed elsewhere and the full or extended show on Flicknexs.
What the audio module gives a podcast operator
Eight things the Flicknexs admin and apps do for a podcast that lives inside your own product. Nothing here involves an RSS feed or a directory.
Tracks as episodes
Upload each episode as an audio track with title, artwork, description, language and category.
Albums as shows
Group tracks into an album that stands for a show or a season, ordered by episode.
Artists as hosts
Create an artist record for each host or guest and attach it to the tracks they appear on.
Categories and languages
Tag each track with an audio category and a language from the admin catalogs.
Playlists
Build admin playlists for curated runs and let listeners keep their own playlists inside the app.
Per-episode access rules
Mark an episode free, include it in subscription plans, or set a pay-per-view price.
Subscriptions and pay-per-view
Sell plans and single episodes through the payment gateways you connect, with no commission taken.
Audio home page
A dedicated audio home page in the site and apps lists shows, artists, categories and playlists.

How podcast hosting works on Flicknexs, piece by piece
The audio module was built for music and spoken audio on demand. Here is how each piece maps to a podcast, and what the listener sees in your app.
An episode is an audio track with its own page
A show is an album, a season is an album too
Hosts and guests are artist records
Access rules decide who hears what
Playlists carry both curation and personal queues
The audio home page is your podcast storefront
How to set up a podcast in the Flicknexs admin
Five steps, in order, from an empty audio section to a paid show. Do the first four with a test episode before you publish a real one.
- 1
Create the categories, languages and artists
Open the audio section of the admin and add the categories your shows belong to, the languages you publish in, and an artist record for each host. Do this before uploading any audio, because a track picks from these lists and a track saved without them is harder to find later on the audio home page.
- 2
Create the album for the show
Add an album with the show name, the show artwork and a description. Attach the host artist. If the show runs in seasons, decide now whether each season becomes its own album; it is easier to create the structure first than to move tracks between albums after they have listeners and playlists pointing at them.
- 3
Upload the episodes as tracks
Upload each episode audio file as a track, give it the episode title, episode artwork if it differs from the show, the description with any show notes, the language and category, and attach it to the album and the artists. Check the order inside the album so a listener who presses play on the album hears episode one first.
- 4
Set the access rule and price on each episode
Open each track and choose free, subscription plans, or pay-per-view with a price. Set your free sampler episodes to free. Assign the paid episodes to the plan that should include them. If you sell a single episode, enter its price and check it in a test purchase through your connected gateway before publishing the album.
- 5
Publish, then check the audio home page and playlists
Publish the album and the tracks, then open the audio home page on the website and in a device app. Confirm the show appears under its category and artist, that the free episode plays without login and the paid one asks for a plan or purchase. Build an admin playlist if you want a curated entrance for new listeners.
Limits, tradeoffs and what podcast hosting on Flicknexs does not do
Read this section before you move a show. Each item is a real gap, stated as it is.
No RSS feed and no directory submission
No offline listening
No dynamic ad insertion for audio
Podcast analytics are platform analytics, not directory downloads
The vocabulary is music vocabulary
A worked example: a business interview network with three paid shows
A realistic operator: a small network that runs three interview shows and wants to sell a members tier without giving a share to a directory.
Pre-launch checklist for a show on Flicknexs
Run this list on a test show before you tell listeners anything.
- Categories, languages and an artist record for every host exist before the first track is uploaded.
- One album exists per show or per season, with artwork sized to look right on the audio home page.
- Every track has an episode title, description, language, category, artist and album, and the album order is correct.
- Sampler episodes are set to free and a logged-out visitor can play them on the website.
- Paid episodes are assigned to the right subscription plan and a test account in that plan can play them.
- Any single-episode pay-per-view price has been checked with a real test purchase on your connected gateway.
- Your help page tells listeners plainly that shows play inside your app and are not in podcast directories.
- Your help page states that episodes stream and are not downloadable for offline listening.
- The audio home page shows the show under its category and artist on the website and in one device app.
- The monthly subscription and pay-per-view revenue reports in analytics show your test purchases correctly.
How podcast hosting fits the apps and your revenue
Audio inside Flicknexs uses the same apps, plans and gateways as video, so the rest of your product applies to it.
